Easter in the Park

Hello,

It has been a long time since my last post, but here I am, again! Finally, we got the warm weather only at the end of April and could enjoy warm afternoon walking in the park.
As Easter is approaching, in one of the nearby parks, there was an exhibition of egg paintings and egg sculptures from different regions of Ukraine. They are very different from what we are used to paint them.

The 8th of March

Celebrating Woman's Day: Living for some time in different countries, I have observed that Woman's Day, 8th of March is celebrated mostly and in the same way in ex-communist countries. In western countries and in US, I noticed that is not celebrated. While in ex-communist countries it is massively celebrated, where the day is considered a holiday and women go out and celebrate mostly together and receive gifts from their husbands, boyfriends, sons, or any male friend or relative. Most of the gifts are symbolic and flowers.

For that day, we went with two other friends to watch the National Georgian Dancers, who come and perform in Kyiv every year. I loved the dances, the costumes, and the music, which was very similar to my own country. It was an amazing show, despite the incredible cold of that day, which resulted in a four day sore throat for me :(
